Shakib has stated that Bangladesh are coming into the tournament with a winning mentality having beaten Australia and New Zealand at home convincingly. Bangladesh will have to be on-spot because they have to qualify in Oman before they can reach the main draw.

62, 117, 121, 108, 60, 137, 93—Scores Bangladesh have limited Australia and New Zealand to. Can they perform on a pitch less assistance to spinners and the cutters of the Fizz? Will they miss Tamim Iqbal at the top, who has opted out?

Does Oman Have It In Them to Qualify for the Next Round?

Victorious against Ireland in the 2016 T20 World Cup (remember that catch?), they will be banking on similar experience to go one step further this time around. Easily the oldest side at this WC, this might be the final time this Oman generation plays at the big stage, especially with the Hong Kongs and Nepals breathing down their neck.

Does Papua New Guinea Have It In Them to Qualify for the Next Round?

Qualifying 2nd in the 2019 T20 World Cup Qualifier, they have the ingredients to go through the next round. I am looking forward to their fielding, being described as one of the more disciplined Associate sides. However, I cannot see past Bangladesh and Scotland in this group.

Does Scotland Have It In Them to Qualify for the Next Round?

I have been waiting to watch more of Scotland since they defeated (not upset) England on the eve of the 2019 ODI Cricket World Cup. Scotland scored 371 runs courtesy, MacLeod’s 140*. They can definitely bat and they should be able to escape the pre-qualifying group but can they survive the pitches in Oman & UAE to win any further?

I dreamt of being a No. 3 batsman saving test matches and hitting winning runs. Well, that did not exactly go to plan, but I have since become an avid follower of the game. As long as there is a live cricket, you can guarantee that I will be checking the scorecards, watching the game live on TV, and certainly, discussing the game and statistics with family and friends.
